What is ``dark`` social media and why should I worry about it?
Dark social media makes up all of the unknowns or unseen activity on your social sites (think: clicks, click-through rates, time spent on pages, etc.). It’s extremely important to understand this part of social media since nearly 90% of your audience is silent. Read this post to understand how to calculate your dark social percentage and how to perform audits that will help you see what’s working (dark or not).
How many times a day should I be posting to Facebook?
I know you’re gonna hate this answer – but it really depends! You can actually hurt your brand by aggravating the EdgeRank Algorithm Facebook uses to determine who sees your posts if you post too much, too little, or too much “sales-y” content. We’ve got some data to help you figure out a posting frequency here.
How do I decide what social platforms are best for my business?
Should I connect my Facebook account to Twitter?
Only if you want to be seen as an amateur who’s SO NOT SOCIAL! Sorry for the rant, but seriously, why would users be encouraged to follow you on all of your active social platforms if they’re all regurgitating the same, tired info? Read more on that here.
If my social media sites aren’t making money, what’s the point of using social media for business?
Ah-so, grasshopper! There’s much more to social media ROI than bottom-dollar sales. We suggest you do the following three things:
How can we get more engagement and interaction on our posts?
There are MANY ways to do this, but our biggest suggestion is to use a CTA (call-to-action). Not sure what that is? Read these three posts on CTAs and get 40+ examples on how to get a boatload of those clicks and comments!
Should I outsource my social media marketing or hire someone in-house?
Compared to hiring an employee (who requires payroll taxes, sick & vacation time, benefits, training, overhead costs, etc.) hiring an agency can be much more cost effective. Plus, with B Squared Media, you’re getting a whole team of people rather than just one employee (who probably doesn’t work after hours, weekends or holidays).
That said, no one knows your business better than you do. Which is one way of saying that social media outsourcing is NOT for everyone. Read our thoughts on outsourcing and then give us a call – we’ll be happy to spend 30 minutes talking with you about sustainable social media structures.
How do you measure social media ROI (return on investment)?
We suggest you do the following three things:
- Start with your key performance indicators (KPIs). Not sure what those are or how to track them? Never fear, your marketing expert (that’d be us) has a free tracking template right here: How To Pick Effective Social Media KPIs.
- Read our four-part series on how to measure social media ROI.
- Download our free eBook on measuring social media ROI (it even has a formula cheat sheet!)
- *And if you’re still not making moola after all of that, it sounds like you need to bring in the big guns … ahem … that’d be us! Contact us here!
I'm just starting out. How can I make my brand STAND OUT?
How do I protect myself from negative comments online?
You don’t. But here’s the silver lining, you now know what people are saying about you and your brand and can make it better! Sticking your head in the sand will only allow potential customers to keep talking badly about your brand. What you need to worry more about is executing your Risk and Response Plan so you can quickly gather the troops when you need to pull the ripcord on a Crisis Management plan. Here’s a post we’ve got for you on the 4 steps you need to have in place: CLICK HERE FOR A RISK & RESPONSE PLAN
What’s the most important aspect of email marketing?
What’s the difference between marketing and sales?
Can I reuse older content? If so, how?
How much content do I need to be creating online?
What is “content marketing” and why is everyone so obsessed with it?
Content marketing has been around forever! Did you know that in the olden days kitchen gadget makers gave out free recipes to sell their whose-ah-ma-bop-it to moms? True story. There are really three absolutely must-know points when it comes to content marketing, and we’ve got them all nice and laid out for you here.
Why are tone and voice so important to content marketing? How are they different?
Just like spelling and grammar are hugely important to content marketing (and social media!), so is understanding the difference between tone and voice. It’s your lucky day because we’ve got a post outlining the difference between the two and what they mean for branding… right here.
